Welcome to our Summer I schedule! These courses will begin May 1st and run for 6 weeks, meeting once a week. Students will spend four weeks focused on throwing or handbuilding, followed by two weeks dedicated to glazing and finishing work.

Our instructors are here to guide you at every stage, whether you’re touching clay for the first time or refining forms you’ve been developing for years. First-timers and beginners are encouraged to join us.

Intro to Wheel I: 6 Weeks
Have you always wanted to learn to throw on the potter’s wheel? This class requires no previous throwing experience. It is taught in a small setting with plenty of one on one instruction time. Your class fee includes all instruction, use of equipment, clay, tools, glaze, and all firing costs.
We recommend taking Intro to Wheel Throwing 2–3 times before moving up to Wheel 2 or beyond. If you’re unsure where you belong next, talk to our team and we’ll guide you to the best class fit.

Wheel II: 6 Weeks
Taken a class or two but not quite ready for intermediate? If you’ve learned how to center then this six week class is designed to help you navigate a myriad of throwing skills and creative processes necessary to continue your wheel throwing adventures! We will focus on gaining height, balance, wall and foot thickness, tool proficiency and begin to explore the complexities of form and function.

Intermediate & Advanced Wheel Throwing: 6 Sessions
This class is designed for students who are ready to build on the foundations from Wheel 1 and Wheel 2.
Many students repeat the Wheel 2 course 2-3 times before progressing to this level, depending on their individual skills and comfort level.
In this course, you will explore different forms while further refining your throwing techniques. We’ll focus on control, consistency, and pushing your skills a little further each week.
All intermediate sections are 2.5 hrs long.

Hand Building: 6 Weeks
This class will explore introductory techniques for hand-building functional or sculptural objects. No previous clay experience required. You will learn coiling, pinching, and slab building in a small class setting. Your class fee includes all instruction, use of equipment, clay, tools, glaze, and all firings costs.
