Spring 2 Classes
Welcome to our late spring schedule starting April 22nd! For this session, we’re excited to introduce our two-hour classes, which will give you even more making time. We’re offering Intro to Wheel 1, Intro to Wheel 2, Intermediate Wheel and Hand-Building. Intro to Wheel 2 is a new class that will be the bridge between Intro to Wheel 1 and Intermediate Wheel. For kiddos, we have six-week wheel/hand-building classes and don’t forget to check out our kids’ summer camp page as well!
Classes are Adults 18+ (excluding teens and kids’ classes)
Intro to Wheel Throwing 1: 6 weeks
Have you always wanted to learn to throw on the potters wheel? This class requires no previous throwing experience. It is taught in a small setting with plenty of one on one instruction time. Your class fee includes all instruction, use of equipment, clay, tools, glaze, and all firings costs.

Intro to Wheel Throwing II: 6 weeks
Taken a class or two but not quite ready for intermediate? If you’ve learned how to center, then this six week class is perfect for you as it is designed to help you navigate a myriad of throwing skills and creative processes necessary to continue your wheel throwing adventures! We will focus on gaining height, balance, wall and foot thickness, tool proficiency and begin to explore the complexities of form and function.

Intermediate Wheel Throwing: 6 weeks
In this class, you will build on the skills from the into courses (some students repeat intro 2-3 times before moving on to this section depending on skill level). You will learn new/different forms and further your throwing technique. Class projects will be partially determined by student interest.

SATURDAYS AFTERNOONS WITH CLAIRE

Intro to Hand Building: 6 weeks
This class will explore introductory techniques to handbuilding functional objects and requires no previous clay experience. You will learn coiling, pinching, and slab building in a small class setting. Your class fee includes all instruction, use of equipment, clay, tools, glaze, and all firings costs.

Thursday mornings handbuilding with Meghan
10 am - 12 pm — April 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
Kids + Teens: 6 weeks
While all other courses are 18+, these respective classes are the perfect opportunity for teens (11-18 yr olds) and kids (5-10 year olds) to start their love of pottery! Students will have the opportunity to work on both the wheel and learn to hand build during these 1 hour and 15 minute classes. Students may repeat courses as many times as they like to continue developing their skills as classes are customized towards students’ interests.
